Goal for today is to type up a basic essay on this, so hopefully that'll be up later.
And yes! It's not a class I'd normally take. It feels very odd to me, as a queer individual, to take a class that tries to deconstruct some of what that means -- like a cross between group therapy and sociology but I'm graded, which is a very strange position to be in.
However, the two ladies teaching seem to be very nice and they've made it clear that grading is based on effort, not on the opinions shown in the assignments, and I think that approach does a lot to mitigate some of the anxiety I held toward being 'graded' on assignments that touched on personal experiences.
